Cold enough for booties!
I think it may be officially winter in MN. Who needs fall, right? Um, I do!
My latest project has been some adorable booties for for expecting friends :-) I have one pair ready to be sewn up, and I'm half way through another pair for BabyGoose. The pattern I'm using right now is good for girls, and I need to find one that I like in case any of the arrivals are little boys!
Well, back to my busy day. I have a book to finish, a bootie to knit, and a large coffee to drink. Hello weekend!

Mum is the word
So I've been pretty quiet these days. Sorry!
Anyway, an update :-) This summer after our BWCA trip I decided that I would scope out possible teaching jobs to either supplement or replace my current location. I started writing applications in mid July, and continued to apply many places throughout August. Last Wednesday I was called for an interview that happened today. I met with two principals and two music teachers at 8:30 this morning and gave what I thought was a great interview! But then I had to wait. And wait.. And wait... And wait....
Until 8:00 PM! The principal who originally contacted me called and offered me the job! So I will now be an Elementary Band Director!
I'm sad to have to leave my current school. I will miss the staff, students, and parents a great deal. But I'm very excited to start this new adventure :-)

Vacation, all I ever wanted!
I'm gone for the next (almost) 2 weeks relaxing and canoeing! I'll be knitting in Duluth, but probably won't get much done in the BWCAW. Should be a good trip. Lots of photobucket pics when I get back!

Soy-silk
I think this yarn will be the end of me some day. The thing it likes to do best is slip off my needle when I'm not looking, causing all sorts of trouble in my pattern! It's a good thing it is so pretty!
Erik's Scarf
Here is the scarf I'm making for Erik. It's tedious, but looks pretty cool. It will be very warm in the winter, which is when it will finally be done :-)
Pictures
Today I have the entire day off. Aside from continuing to clean and organize our spare room, I think I'll be taking pictures of my yarn stash for Ravelry. Maybe I'll upload some more pictures on Flickr too... but that might be too much ambition for one day ;-)

First Knitting Blog and...Babies!
Here goes my latest attempt at blogging. I'm hoping to use this blog to post pictures of my latest knitting projects and help me stay on task by being more accountable for this hobby :-) We'll have to see how well it works!
On another note, several of my friends will be having babies this fall! I think it's time to learn how to knit booties!
